On January 17, 2025, Astana IT University hosted a forum of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan entitled “Quality Assurance of higher Education: state and development Prospects”. The event was attended by Rector of Zhezkazgan University Takishov Abdilmalik Argynovich, Vice-rector for Academic Affairs Yulianna Borisovna Icheva and Vice-rector for Science and Strategic Development Alexander Konstantinovich Svidersky.

The Forum brought together representatives of the academic community, including ministers, rectors, vice-rectors, experts and heads of accreditation bodies. The program included thematic sessions and a plenary session:

Thematic session 1: “Publication strategy of the scientist”. The participants discussed key issues of publication activity, prospects for expanding the list of publications and ethical aspects of scientific activity.

Thematic session 2: “Issues of state control”. The topics included accreditation, regulatory mechanisms, university ratings, and digitalization of licensing processes.

Plenary session: Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek presented up-to-date information on the state and prospects of development of higher education and science, as well as key initiatives to improve the quality of educational services.
